Everyone knows that the key to achieving your ideal weight is to eat a healthy, balanced diet and take regular exercise but for some, this elusive task can be a nightmare. Failure to lose weight can lead to despair, causing them to seek comfort from further overeating, leading to more weight gain and more despair. It then becomes a vicious cycle that can be very difficult to break.

 

Diets only have a short-term effect, if any, as it is only a matter of time before the old eating habits creep back in and the weight piles on again. In fact, someone who has a weight problem has programmed his or her subconscious mind to eat in a particular way, and it has nothing to do with normal eating satisfaction.

 

Each client’s relationship with food is unique to them, so my hypnotherapy sessions will be very much geared to each individual’s specific requirements, rather than a generic, one-size-fits-all approach adopted by many hypnotherapists. You can be reassured that you will receive experienced and trusted care, and that your needs will be addressed, rather than just being treated with the same weight control issue as everyone else.

 

So how does hypnotherapy for weight-loss work?

  •  I am essentially your coach. I will guide you into a state of deep relaxation.
  • Once your body and mind are in relaxation mode (much like a daydream), I will be able to access your unconscious mind (the part of us that works all the time but that we are not necessarily aware of i.e. innate instincts and survival mechanisms).
  • Soothing, tailored worded scripts can be used to explore your reasons for overeating and suggested new ways of thinking through visualisations will be offered to your subconscious mind. You have the control to reject any suggestions that you do not feel happy with without any guidance from me.
  • Over time you (through the medium of your powerful subconscious mind) will learn how to replace your negative habits and eating patterns with positive ones.

One of the most commonly asked questions in hypnotherapy consultations is – will hypnotherapy work for me? The answer to that is it is hard to know until you try it yourself. While it certainly will not work in the same way for everyone, the process of talking about developing good habits and getting rid of bad habits should help plant a new level of awareness when it comes to food and exercise.

 

What I offer to in order to help you manage your weight:

 

1) The 8-Week Body Beyond Beautiful Programme

Session 1 – “Intake Interview and Introduction to the Body Beyond Beautiful Program,” you will have an interview and get an overview of the Body Beyond Beautiful Program. 

Session 2 – “Creating a Healthy Relationship with Food,” is a session that encourages you to eat when you are hungry and stop eating when you are full. 

Session 3 – “Creating a positive body imageis a session that challenges your negative thoughts.

Session 4 – “Tackling Self-Sabotage & Limiting Beliefs” gets you to focus on what REALLY is holding you back from achieving your ideal weight goal. Self-sabotage is when we say we want something and then go about making sure it doesn’t happen.

Session 5 – “Boosting Motivation to Exercise,” revs up your motivation to exercise. 

Session 6 – “Understanding the Effect of Food, Portion Size & Cravings,” is a session focusing on the powerful effect that food has on our moods and about choosing healthful, nutritious, slenderizing foods. 

Session 7 – “Stopping Emotional Eating with Stress Management,” teaches you stress management tools to curb the eating for comfort that sometimes accompanies stress. 

Session 8 – “Confidence, Mindset & review” is the final session that encourages you to take your mindset into the future so that the changes you’ve made are lasting.

 

After  Session 8, you may want to return for additional follow-up sessions to work through any other issues that may be interfering with the success you seek. You might want to talk about relationships, self-esteem, work-related problems, low confidence or self-doubt; anything that will help you reduce stress, love yourself, and maintain your progress. 

 

2) We work on a specific issue per session

I work with what YOU feel is holding you back from reaching your ideal weight goal. These could be issues such as emotional eating, or portion control, lack of motivation to eat healthily and cut down/out alcohol, lack of motivation to exercise etc…

 

Please note that if you have been diagnosed with an eating disorder, I will need the consent of your therapist and / or medical doctor before proceeding with hypnosis.

 

 

The task to maintain your weight is not easy.

It is time-consuming and life changing, and you are worth it.
